The Soul Artist approach to wellness includes a holistic perspective that honors the whole person. It is rooted in Mystic Traditions, Yoga Therapy, Ayurveda, Depth Psychology, and Contemplative Practices. Soul Artist Consultations are not intended to diagnose or treat any physical or psychological illness or disease. Instead, suggested practices are intended to support a wellness lifestyle so that you may experience life more fully.
Dr. Rachel Redding, PhD (Dr. Redding or R.R. Shakti) holds a Doctoral degree in Mythology and Depth Psychology and an MA in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Carpinteria, CA. She also earned a BA in Traditional Eastern Arts from Naropa University in Boulder CO. She is not a licensed counselor for clinical psychotherapy. Nor is she a medical doctor. As part of any Soul Artist Academy program or one/one mentorship, you are strongly advised to consult with a medical doctor and/or psychotherapist for diagnosis or treatment of physical or psychological illness or disease.
Soul Artist Consultation is a process in which you discuss myriad issues, events, and experiences for the purpose of growth so clients can experience life more fully. Soul Artist Consultation is a joint effort between client and R.R. Shakti, PhD. Progress will vary from client to client. Factors related to the process of growth and change could include, but are not limited to, frequency of sessions, the level of your personal engagement, and the topics we address. During the process, you may find that you feel worse before you feel better. This is generally a normal course of events. Personal growth and change may be easy and swift at times, but may also be slow and frustrating. Address with me any concerns you have regarding your progress. Also, consult your medical doctors and psychological counselors with questions or concerns. The advice of your medical doctor or psychological counselor always takes precedence over any suggestions from me during the Soul Artist Consultation.
"New Client Registration Form” and this “Terms of Service” and “Informed Consent and Release of Liability" must be read and signed for legal acknowledgement. Payment for services is also required for Soul Artist Consultation to commence. Selected wellness assessments may also be administered with your additional consent.
Dr. Rachel Redding (R.R. Shakti) will not voluntarily participate in any litigation, or custody dispute in which client and another individual, or entity, are parties. Dr. Redding and Soul Artist hold a policy of not communicating with client’s attorney and will generally not write or sign letters, reports, declarations, or affidavits to be used in a legal matter unless agreed upon at beginning of the professional relationship. Dr. Redding will generally not provide records or testimony unless compelled to do so. Should she be subpoenaed, or ordered by a court of law, to appear as a witness in an action involving a client, client agrees to reimburse Dr. Redding for any time spent for preparation, travel, or other time in which she has made herself available for such an appearance at her usual and customary hourly rate.
All communications between you and Dr. Redding will be held in strict confidence unless you provide written permission to release information about your Soul Artist Consultation. There are exceptions to confidentiality. For example, Dr. Redding is required to report instances of suspected child or elder abuse. Dr. Redding will break confidentiality if she has determined that you present a serious danger of physical violence to another person or if she determines that you are dangerous to yourself.
Communications between Dr Redding and clients who are minors (under the age of 18) are confidential. However, parents and other guardians who provide authorization for their child’s care are sometimes involved in their Soul Artist Consultations. Consequently, in the exercise of professional judgment, Dr. Redding may discuss the progress of a minor client with the parent or caretaker. Clients who are minors and their parents are urged to discuss any questions or concerns that arise with their medical doctor and psychological counselors.
Dr. Redding reserves the right to terminate counseling at her discretion. Reasons for termination include, but are not limited to, untimely payment of fees, failure to comply with recommendations, conflicts of interest, failure to participate, client needs are outside of the scope of competence or practice, or client is not making adequate progress. You, in turn, have the right to terminate services at your discretion. Upon either party’s decision to terminate services, Dr. Redding will generally recommend that you participate in at least one, or possibly more, termination sessions. These sessions are intended to facilitate a positive termination experience and give both parties an opportunity to reflect on the work that has been done. Dr. Redding will also attempt to ensure a smooth transition for you to another system of support by offering referrals. Any monetary value paid for services will not be refundable.
